What this tool does

Reduces an audio file's size by re-encoding at a lower bitrate, showing honest before/after sizes.

How to use it

  1. Choose a supported file.
  2. Set any available options.
  3. Start processing and wait for completion.
  4. Download and review the result.

Common uses

  • Fit audio under upload limits
  • Save space on voice-note archives
  • Make podcasts lighter to download

Tips

  • 128k is transparent for most speech
  • 96k suits voice; keep 192k+ for music
  • Compressing an already-low-bitrate file may not shrink it further

Frequently asked questions

Will I hear the difference?

For speech, 96–128k is usually indistinguishable. For music, keep 192k or higher.

Why didn't my file get smaller?

If the source is already at or below the target bitrate, there is nothing to remove.

Which formats does it output?

MP3 by default, M4A and OGG optionally.
